Charlotte Latin School, also known as Latin, is a private high school located within the Raintree neighborhood of Charlotte. Founded in 1970, the school services grades K-12 and is known for its excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. Several notable alumni walked the halls of Latin including NFL quarterback Daniel Jones, actor/comedian Jim Rash, and former LPGA champion Kathy Baker. The school prides itself on its educational prestige and its students often go on to attend accredited universities following graduation. Athletics
Charlotte Latin participates in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) and has seen much success at the state level. The school has won a total of 165 championships across 66 sports teams. Training and sports facilities are top-notch and are scattered across the school grounds. The school boasts 3 gymnasiums, an indoor track, 7 playing fields, a 1,500-seat stadium, and even a full-service aquatics center. The school has some of the best sporting amenities in the Charlotte area so it’s easy to see why the Hawks routinely compete for State Championships.
Arts
Charlotte Latin School pushes students to express themselves through many avenues including embracing the arts. Students can explore interests in classes covering Music, Theater, Visual Art, and even Creative Writing. Latin has 6 classrooms dedicated to its arts program, and students regularly perform concerts and plays in the Horne Performing Arts Center.
