Davidson Day School is a private high school located within the town of Davidson to the north of Charlotte. Founded in 1999, the school services grades K-12 and is known for its excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. Several notable alumni walked the halls of Country Day including NFL quarterback Will Grier and WNBA guard Maya Caldwell. The school prides itself on its educational prestige and its students often go on to attend accredited universities following graduation. Davidson Day students were also well prepared for the Aptitude and Critical Thinking test (ACT). Average 2023 composite scores outperformed average CMS, State, and National high school scores by at least 10 points. Athletics

Davidson Day School participates in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) and has seen much success at the state level. The school has won a total of 22 state championships across 32 sports teams. The school houses a gymnasium, and several sporting fields, and even has waterfront access to Lake Norman.


Arts

Davidson Day encourages its students to pursue their passions through various artistic programs. Music, visual art, and theater courses are all offered at the school, and students often find themselves performing in several live events each year. Musicals are put on in the school's Gordon Theater, and band participants play in the Christmas in Davidson parade each year. Several of the school’s alumni have followed their passions even after graduation, with universities like Savannah College of Art and Design and the Rhode Island School of Design frequenting Davidson Day’s college grad board.
